Our Charity Scheme is Back for a Second Year

WCF
Building on the fundraising success of last year, we’re delighted to be rolling out our popular store charity scheme for a second year! Find out the details and how you can help make this year even bigger than the last.

All eight of our stores are taking part in the scheme, with each store raising money for a chosen animal charity in their area. As part of the initiative, in-store customers can buy pre-filled donation goody bags for a variety of animal types, packed with essentials including food, supplements, toys, treats and health care items.

As well as this, each store will host fundraising events throughout the year. As a company, we’ve also pledged to donate 3% of money redeemed in-store through our loyalty card scheme, meaning that not only you get to save, but you’re helping your store’s charity too!

Jade Earley, General Manager of WCF Pet & Equestrian, said: “It’s really important to us that we do everything we can to support local charities and, because we specialise in pet products, it made sense for us to choose charities which are close to our hearts.

“Our team has really got behind this initiative, with each store selecting the charity they want to support. As well as the donation bag scheme, we support each charity's own fundraising efforts via our social media channels and through our in-store events, and this year we are also making a financial contribution as a company.”

Alexis Fleming, founder of the Maggie Fleming Animal Hospice, supported by the Castle Douglas store, said: “As a small, local independent charity, I'm so grateful for the kindness and support of the community around us. Being chosen as the charity partner by Anna and the team at WCF Pet and Equestrian’s Castle Douglas store means so much to us.

“The money they raise to help us with our day-to-day needs and the donations of food and other essentials from their customers helps keep our 400 or so animals healthy and well. This local support and belief in what we do here helps us carry on our vital role of providing a safe forever home and somewhere nice to live and die for animals who otherwise have nowhere else to go.”

Liz Fell, Fundraising Officer at Oak Tree Animals’ Charity which is being backed by the Carlisle store said: “It’s brilliant to have the support of a local business such as WCF Pet & Equestrian, both through raising money and also highlighting the work we do providing a safe place for animals in their time of need. Ongoing fundraising and new sources of revenue are crucial to continuing our work and we’re delighted to be part of this partnership.”

The pre-filled donation bags are available in different values of up to £10, with all items collected together and donated to charity by the team. Charities are able to request items which will be most useful to them for inclusion in the bags.
